A Standing Committee is a permanent committee established to oversee specific ongoing functions or responsibilities within an organization, such as finance, governance, or fundraising. These committees have defined roles and continue their work over time.

An Ad Hoc Committee, on the other hand, is a temporary group formed to address a specific issue or task, such as organizing an event or conducting a one-time project. Once the task is completed, the ad hoc committee disbands.
